I'm Samantha Jane, a naturopath on Sydney's North Shore with over 20 years of health industry experience. I help women and men understand why their health issues have occurred — so they can follow a plan with conviction and see real results.

The most common feedback I receive is that practitioners overload clients with information but leave them confused about what to actually do. I take a different approach.
Your initial consultation is a comprehensive deep-dive into your full health picture — diet, sleep, stress, hormonal patterns and more — to understand why symptoms are occurring, not just treat them on the surface.
After your consultation, I dedicate extra time building a personalised health plan that explains not only what you need to do, but why — giving you the conviction to follow through.
From regulating menstrual cycles and clearing chronic skin conditions to resolving years of gut issues — clients see meaningful change because they understand and trust the plan.

Within months of changing my diet, lifestyle and starting herbal treatment, I saw real change. I went on to have three successful pregnancies, regulated my cycle, and took back control of my health.
Today, I bring that same lived experience and deep understanding to every client I work with. Your health journey matters to me — because I've been there.

After only one appointment, I had received more answers and felt more understood than I have in years. Samantha took the time to really listen and explain everything clearly.
Samantha looked at everything from my diet to my sleep and was able to shed light on what was really going on. I now recommend her to everyone — sometimes a different perspective can make all the difference.
Samantha goes above and beyond what is required, listens to you and really cares about your health. I felt supported every step of the way.

Most people who see a naturopath in Sydney arrive the same way: something has been off for a while - energy, cycles, digestion, skin, sleep, mood - and the answers so far haven't gone deep enough. Tests come back "normal", appointments feel rushed, and you're left managing symptoms without understanding what's driving them.
Naturopathy takes a different starting point. Rather than treating each symptom in isolation, I look at how your systems interact - hormones, gut, nervous system, nutrition, sleep and stress - to work out why symptoms are occurring, then build a plan using dietary change, herbal medicine, targeted nutrition and lifestyle strategies. Naturopathy works alongside your GP and specialists, not instead of them.
I've practised this way for one simple reason: it's what worked for me. After years of being offered the pill as the only answer to my PCOS, naturopathy is what finally regulated my cycle and gave me my health back. Whether you're on the North Shore and can visit the Lane Cove clinic, or elsewhere in Sydney or Australia and prefer a phone or video consultation, the approach is the same - thorough, personal and explained in plain language.
Naturopathy is self-regulated in Australia — there is no government register, and “naturopath” is not a protected title the way “physiotherapist” or “dietitian” are. That puts the checking in your hands. These are the five questions worth asking any naturopath in Sydney before you book, including me.
Look for at least an Advanced Diploma or a Bachelor-level qualification in naturopathy from a recognised college. Short courses and weekend certifications exist, and they are not the same thing. My own training is an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy (HLT60512) from Nature Care College, alongside a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science from UTS.
ATMS, NHAA and ANTA are the main ones. Membership is not a formality — it requires evidence of qualifications, current first aid, professional indemnity insurance and ongoing professional development. It is also what makes a health fund rebate possible where your fund still covers naturopathy. I am an ATMS member (#51549).
This one question tells you more than any website will. Understanding why symptoms are occurring means working through diet, sleep, stress, hormones, digestion, medications and history properly. That is not possible in thirty minutes. My initial consultation is 90 minutes, and it is used.
There is a real difference between leaving with a bag of supplements and leaving with a written plan you understand. Ask what you receive afterwards, and whether it explains the reasoning or just the instructions. If you cannot explain your own plan to someone else, you are unlikely to stick to it.
Naturopathy sits alongside medical care, not instead of it. A good practitioner will want to see your blood work, will ask about every medication you take, and will check herb–drug interactions before prescribing anything. Be cautious of anyone who encourages you to stop prescribed treatment.
Ask me those five questions too — call or text 0413 772 566 and I will answer them before you commit to anything. You can also read my full background or see how consultations work.
Around half my clients have never set foot in the Lane Cove clinic. Here is the honest comparison rather than the marketing one.
The 90-minute initial consultation and the depth of history-taking. Review of your existing blood work. The written health plan afterwards. Herbal and nutritional prescribing. The follow-up structure. Dispensary items are posted to you either way.
In clinic I can read the physical signs — tongue, nails, skin, posture — and hand you your herbal mix on the day. Online, you have your own kitchen and supplement cupboard within reach, there is no travel, and appointments fit around work far more easily.
If you are within reach of Lane Cove, my honest suggestion is to make the first appointment in person and run the follow-ups online. If you are elsewhere in Sydney or anywhere in Australia, online alone works perfectly well — it is how a large part of this practice already runs.
Naturopathy is not a single appointment that fixes things. This is the arc most clients follow.
Some people need only the first two steps. Others with longer-standing concerns work with me across a longer arc. There is no package you have to buy into, and no pressure to book beyond what is useful.
A naturopath looks at your health as a whole system - diet, hormones, gut health, sleep, stress and lifestyle - to identify why symptoms are occurring, not just manage them. Treatment plans typically combine dietary guidance, herbal medicine, nutritional support and lifestyle strategies, working alongside your GP and specialists.
Your initial consultation is a comprehensive 90-minute deep-dive into your full health picture - history, diet, sleep, stress, hormonal patterns and any existing blood work. Afterwards, Samantha builds a personalised written health plan that explains not only what to do, but why.
No. The clinic is in Lane Cove on Sydney's North Shore, but consultations are also available by phone or video for clients across Sydney and Australia-wide. Online clients receive the same consultation depth and written health plan.
PCOS and fertility support are the heart of this practice - Samantha's own PCOS journey is why she became a naturopath. Naturopathic support focuses on cycle regulation, insulin resistance, nutrition and preconception care, working alongside your medical team.
No referral is needed. You can book directly with Samantha by phone, text or email, whether you're visiting the Lane Cove clinic or consulting online. Naturopathy works alongside your GP and specialists, not instead of them.
Call or text Samantha directly on 0413 772 566, or email hello@samanthajane.health. Every new client starts with a conversation - she'll answer your questions and find an appointment time that genuinely works for you.
Fees differ between an initial consultation and a follow-up, and they are discussed openly when you call — there are no surprises and no obligation. Call or text 0413 772 566 and I will talk you through exactly what is involved before you book anything.
Some private health funds include naturopathy under their extras cover, though many have reduced or removed it in recent years. As an ATMS member (#51549) I can provide a receipt with the provider details your fund needs. Check your own cover before your appointment, as it varies considerably between funds and policies.
A dietitian is a university-trained, regulated professional working primarily with diet, often in a clinical or hospital setting. A naturopath works across diet, herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation and lifestyle together, looking at how your systems interact. The approaches complement each other and I refer to dietitians where that is the better fit.
No. Supplements are one tool among several, and plenty of plans lean far more on dietary and lifestyle change. Where something is recommended, I explain what it is for and how long you are likely to need it. Recommendations are always optional, and there is never pressure to buy.
Yes, and it is important that I know about it. Some herbs interact with prescription medicines, so I check every recommendation against your full medication list and coordinate with your prescribing doctor where needed. Naturopathic care works alongside your medical treatment, never as a replacement for it.
It depends entirely on what is going on and how long it has been going on for. Some people notice shifts in energy or digestion within two to three weeks. Hormonal patterns generally need two to three cycles before the picture is clear. I will give you a realistic timeframe for your situation at the consultation rather than a generic promise.
